Today I Said A Prayer For You

Today I said a prayer for you, that you’ll be safe in all you do
That angels always fly above, to watch over you
The one I love, I prayed that you would have a smile
And that it would last for a long long while
That today God would walk and talk with you
And that your troubles would be few
That you’d be free from aches and pains
And free of worry, in your brain
I prayed that you would be alright
That God would keep you through the night
I Prayed for you a brand new day
That the golden ring would come your way
And as you lay down to sleep, I pray the Lord your soul to keep.

AFSCME – MLK Jr. Anniversary

Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was killed in Memphis 43 years ago, where he had travelled to support AFSCME sanitation workers striking for the right to collective bargaining. That struggle continues today in Wisconsin, Ohio, Florida, New Hampshire, Michigan and other states throughout the country as working people fight back against attacks on their rights and the middle class.

Aaron recorded this version of “American the Beautiful” in support of this struggle that still remains today.
